According to The Livestock Conservancy, these birds are classified as Critically Endangered, meaning their population numbers are so low that extinction is a real and imminent risk.

Once revered for their intelligence, resilience, and genetic distinctiveness, Aseel and similar game birds now exist in fragmented pockets, often misunderstood, misused, or quietly disappearing.
